Atletico Madrid are keen to bring Mario Suarez back to the club after being impressed by his performances for Mallorca this season.

Suarez, a 22-year-old midfielder, had previously been on the books of Atletico until 2008, when they agreed to sell him to the island side. However, the agreement contained a clause allowing Atletico to purchase the player back, and now, according to the Spanish press, they look likely to do just that.

Madrid based daily Marca reports that sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch has been keeping a close eye on Suarez and particularly took note of his fine display in the Copa del Rey recently.

Any move for Suarez remains unlikely during this transfer window, and instead Atletico are set to bring the player back to the Spanish capital for next season’s campaign.
