Egyptian striker Amr Zaki looks set to return to the Premier League with Hull City. The former Wigan player, who was dubbed by then-manager Steve Bruce as, “the least professional player” ever to be under his guidance, has announced on his website that he has passed a medical for Hull and is set to join the squad until the end of the season.

The 26-year-old was highly impressive in the first-half of his loan spell to Wigan last season, with some even likening him to England legend Alan Shearer. But relationships with the management turned sour after he continually failed to return from international duty in the allowed timeframe, leading Wigan to refuse an option to permanently sign him.

Although Hull haven’t officially confirmed the signing, Zaki’s apparent imminent transfer to the club will offer the Egyptian a chance to clear his name and establish a positive reputation.
