Eidur Gudjohnsen has seemingly turned down West Ham United in order to make a move to London rivals Tottenham Hotspur. The former Barcelona forward has been heavily linked with West Ham in recent days, and the Hammers were confident of getting their man. A late bid from Spurs has changed all that however.

The Iceland forward joined Monaco in the summer after falling out of favour at the Camp Nou. Now he will make the move to Spurs on loan until the end of the season.

French paper L’Equipe report that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy personally called Gudjohnsen to discuss the move, and it is this phone call which convinced the 31-year-old to snub the interest of West Ham in favour of a move to White Hart Lane.
