Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has assured Reds fans that they have yet to see the best of big money summer signing Alberto Aquilani. The Spanish coach is sure that the former Roma midfielder will soon begin to make his presence felt.

"It has not been easy for him [Aquilani] because people have been comparing him to Alonso after five years, but he has only been here five months" Benitez told Liverpool’s official website.

Aquilani is hoping to feature in the Merseyside derby today and Benitez is sure that game time is what the Italian needs.

"He has to improve his fitness, but that is a question of time. Alberto is improving all the time and he will be better for us."
