Goalkeeper Nicolay Mihaylov has signed a three-year contract at Dutch side FC Twente, bringing to an end his association with English side Liverpool. The Bulgarian keeper had been on loan with the Eredivisie outfit since 2007 and it is believed the Premier League side received £1.5M for his services.

The capture of Mihaylov has delighted Twente’s English coach Steve McClaren who said the transfer showed just what the Dutch side want to achieve.

"With the signing of Nicolay Mihaylov the club has shown its ambition. He is a talented goalkeeper and has the potential to become a top goalkeeper. For him there is no better place than FC Twente."

Although not yet regular first choice keeper with the Dutch side, Mihaylov is rated by the club’s coaching staff as a hot prospect, and at the age of just 21 has much time to improve further.
