Racing Santander’s wonderkid Sergio Canales has agreed his protracted move to giants Real Madrid. The youngster, who burst onto the La Liga scene this season with some breathtaking displays, will sign a six-year contract at the Bernabeu, with Racing receiving €9M for their find.

Reports from Spain suggest Canales will officially become a Real Madrid player from the 1st of July, and as part of the deal he will spend the 2010/11 season back on loan with Racing.

Canales would have been able to join Real Madrid on a free transfer with his original contract at El Sardinero expiring at the end of the current season. However, the youngster signed a new deal as he was keen for the club to which he owes so much to receive a fee.
