Having just recieved news that Seydou Keita will be out for three to four weeks, Barcelona have received another blow in quick succession, with word that influential midfielder Xavi Hernandez will be out for about 15 days with a right thigh injury.
Xavi joins a long list of prominent absentees that includes, Keita, Eric Abidal, Dani Alves, Dmytro Chygrynskiy and Yaya Toure. The six are all expected to be out when Racing Santander visit Camp Nou at the weekend.
With Real Madrid hot on the heels of Barca, and Champions League action getting back underway, the La Liga leaders are losing key players at a very unfortunate time in the season. The Catalan giants however, can welcome the return of Gerard Pique and Rafael Marquez to shore up a recently injury ravaged back-four.
