Manchester City battled back from a goal down to salvage a point against ten-men Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Tuesday night. Despite leapfrogging Liverpool into fourth place with the draw, manager Roberto Mancini clearly felt his side should have been able to nab all three points, particularly as Tony Pulis’ side were a man less early in the second-half.

Sometimes football is like this, we made mistakes but in the end we got a goal when we needed it. But this was two points less than what we wanted,” Mancini said in the club’s official website. “Fourth is not a bad position, but it would have been better with a win. Now we must recover, I hope we can come back and win in the cup next week but tonight, we should have looked for two more points than we got.”

The 1-1 draw was the second played between the two sides in the span of three days. Man City will now switch their focus to Liverpool at the weekend, in a highly-anticipated battle of top four hopefuls.
