Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has urged his charges to stay calm in the vital battle with Manchester City for fourth place. The Reds visit Eastlands today knowing that defeat would be a huge blow in their quest for a Champions League spot.

The Spanish coach told the club’s official website that having been involved in battles for fourth place before could be of huge benefit for his team and give them an important edge over other contenders such as Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

"Our experience of having been there already could be important. It depends on the players and if they can manage things well."

"The most important thing for us is not to concentrate on them, but on us" said Benitez.
