Panathinaikos knocked out AS Roma from the Europa League last night, recovering from a goal down to stun the Italians with three goals in the span of five minutes. The reborn Djibril Cisse scored a brace in the match, improving his total to 23 goals this season, a tally that he believes should be attracting the attention of France manager Raymond Domenech.

I tell you honestly, I was very disappointed (not to be called up) because I thought I had done a good job, and deserved to at least be tried,” Cisse said in France Football. “My answer is what I did tonight. I hope my performance will be seen. The most important to me is the World Cup. I am not playing against Spain but we’ll see at the end of the year. I can assure you I’ll be playing at my best during the next two months.”

Cisse has not been called up to the France squad since May of 2008. With his rekindled form however, it will be difficult for Domenech to ignore the former Liverpool player.
