France were picked apart 2-0 in front of their home crowd after goals from David Villa and Sergio Ramos ensured Spain lived up to their tag as favourites in the World Cup. Thierry Henry, who started the match for Les Bleus, was convinced that the 2008 European Championships winners are on a different level, much higher than his side’s.

They (Spain) are on another another planet,” Henry said on Spanish paper Marca. “The selection of Vicente del Bosque is, along with Brazil, one of the candidates to win the World Cup. They remind me, with the way they play, of how France did a few years ago,” he continued, before insisting France will get better before the June tournament, “But now there are two and a half months to prepare and rectify things.”

Henry, who found very little service at the front of the France attack, admitted to feeling out of shape in the defeat.
