Barcelona summer signing Keirrison’s Benfica nightmare is well and truly behind him after scoring for Fiorentina at the end of February. The budding star was signed by the Catalan giants in July, and was immediately shipped out to Portugal to gain experience. The Brazilian was constantly benched however, and is now in Italy to prove he is more than just hype.

I do not think how much they paid for me. The only thing I need are opportunities. I was the top scorer of the Brazilian Championship and now I want to work,” Keirrison said to Sport. “I know what I want, but it will only be time that will tell if I succeed. I want to be in the Brazilian team and contest the 2014 World Cup.”

The 21-year-old banged in 41 goals in a single season in 2008 for Brazilian club Coritiba as a teenager – indications of the immense potential of Keirrison.
