Manchester United captain Gary Neville feels in form striker Wayne Rooney is experiencing magnificent form at such an early age because of his early introduction to professional football. The 24-year-old broke on to the Premier League scene for Everton as a 16-year-old, and is now in his eighth season on the big stage.

"Wayne has been around a long time now and he has the experience of a 30-year-old now because he came into the Premier League at 16," says Neville in the club’s official website. "He has played in European Cups, FA Cups, World Cups and European Championships. He has done the lot.”

Rooney is in incredible form this campaign, scoring 28 goals in 35 appearances so far.
