West Ham United’s January window signing Mido will be lining up against former Olympique Marseille team-mate Didier Drogba when his side visit Chelsea today. The two struck a partnership together in the 2003/04 season, scoring 26 of OM’s 51 league goals in that campaign.

"At Marseille, we were playing together. It was great. He is a big player. That was the season he exploded, let’s say,” Mido said on his club’s official website. “He was ridiculously good back at Marseille. He was different class. He scored a lot of goals. He was a strong player and I enjoyed playing with him. His physical presence frightens people.”

Mido will be hoping his side cope with Drogba’s threat, as they attempt to remain out of the relegation zone.
