Inter Milan secured passage into the quarter-finals of the Champions League at the expense of Premier League club Chelsea last night. The Italian side have not reached the last eight in some time, and president Massimo Moratti claims their progression into the next round was down to the genius of former Blues manager Jose Mourinho.

It was Mourinho,” Moratti claimed on the club’s official website when asked why he felt his side triumphed. “His decisions were courageous and he got the formation right. The players were all professional. I really don’t know who was the best. The defenders were all fantastic and Eto’o deserves a sincere applause too."

Mourinho, as he had promised, was respectfully reserved after Inter’s massive victory at Stamford Bridge, a sign that he still holds Chelsea in very high regard despite parting ways in 2007.
