Ahead of the Champions League quarter-final draw this lunchtime, Barcelona’s transfer supremo Txiki Begiristain has declared that the Camp Nou giants want to avoid Manchester United. Despite having surged to victory over the Premier League giants the last time the two met, in last season’s final, Begiristain is keen to miss out on a repeat for now.
The Barcelona general director traces the source of his concern back to that Rome final, and believes that should the La Liga side meet Manchester United again then Sir Alex Ferguson’s side will be keener than ever to avenge that defeat.
