Cristiano Ronaldo has assured Real Madrid president Florentino Perez that they will win the La Liga title. Gloom still hangs in the air at the Bernabeu following the club’s exit from the Champions League and the very real possibility Barcelona could win that trophy on Real Madrid’s home turf.

The Portuguese star appears as disappointed as all his team-mates to have crashed out of Europe, but told Madrid daily Marca that he will celebrate winning the La Liga title with as much passion as if it were the Champions League.

Challenging Barcelona at the top of La Liga, Cristiano Ronaldo has been at pains to point out to his team-mates that Real Madrid hold a good position and chance to win the title that they must not waste.
