Blackburn Rovers gave Chelsea’s hopes to win the Premier League a significant blow on Sunday, when they fought back to salvage a 1-1 draw. El-Hadji Diouf’s header in the second-half cancelled out Didier Drogba’s early goal, but manager Sam Allardyce felt 18-year-old Phil Jones, who was making his debut, was the man that sparked his team back to life.

"There is one name that sums things up for us today and that name is Phil Jones," said Allardyce on Radio Rovers after the game. "He made his debut and it was an outstanding performance from the young man, he showed a lot of commitment and a lot of quality and it revved everybody up.”

The draw sees Chelsea drop to third in the Premier League standings, four points off the top and two points behind second-placed Arsenal.
