Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has hailed Pepe Reina as the best goalkeeper in the whole of England. These comments come after the Spanish shot stopper expressed his desire to remain at the Merseyside giants, where he moved to from Villarreal back in 2005.

He is the best in England – miles away from the others – and we are really pleased to keep him here for a long time,” Benitez said on the club’s official website. "He is always organising the defenders and is more than a keeper. Sometimes the style of goalkeepers is for them to be really good in the six-yard box but Pepe is really good in the 18-yard box.”

Reina showed once again how good of a keeper he is in the weekend’s match against Manchester United, where he did well to save Wayne Rooney’s penalty before the rebound was eventually turned in.
