Liverpool romped to a 3-0 win over Sunderland on Sunday night to leapfrog Manchester City into fifth place in the Premier League. The victory was helped greatly by an impressive brace from Fernando Torres, who claims, much to the despair of opposition teams, that he is getting back to his best physically.

"When you have injuries it is frustrating because every player wants to be able to play in every game," said Torres on the club’s official website. "Playing in less than 30 games is not very many for a Liverpool player but I am playing now and scoring goals. I just want to help the team. The main thing is that I am close to my best now. I feel strong, I have stamina.”

The 26-year-old Torres has made only 29 appearances for The Reds this season due to fitness issues, but has managed to bag 20 goals.
