Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is convinced current fourth placed Tottenham Hotspur will drop enough points for them to catch up and finish in the final Champions League spot come the end of the season. The Spanish tactician is pointing at Spurs’ daunting run-in as the reason for his claims.

It depends on us and if we can keep winning our games," said The Reds boss on the club’s official website. "Tottenham have difficult games so I think we’ll be closer, and we’ll see. Every week will be different,” he added. "After the Europa League we have Birmingham and that will be very tough. But if we can win our games, I think they (Spurs) will lose some points and I think we can be there.”

Tottenham will have to play Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United in quick succession next week, a period which Liverpool and fellow top four contenders Manchester City will be hoping will result in some dropped points for Spurs.
