Barcelona coach Josep Guardiola has spoken of the importance of possession in their Champions League quarter-final tie against Arsenal. Both sides like to play football and impose themselves on games, and Guardiola is in no doubt control of the ball will be crucial.

"They [will] play to their strengths and we to ours." said the Barcelona coach.

"We will try to attack and defend each ball in a very aggressive way, they want the ball [and so] do we."

For Barcelona to play their destructive game Guardiola is certain that the Camp Nou side "have to have the ball more than ever."

The young coach will also know the importance of bagging an away goal when the two sides meet at the Emirates tonight. Such a goal could prove to be the deciding factor in the battle to grab a semi-final spot.
