Martin O’Neill claims his drive to triumph in the FA Cup stems from a desire to reward the amazing support Aston Villa has enjoyed. The Scottish manager, who has been the focal point in increasing the quality of football at Villa Park, insists victory against Chelsea is not a quest for personal glory, but rather an inkling to give back to the fans.

It would be great to get to the final this season – for our fans and for the players. It would show signs the players are improving in the manner that I think they are,” O’Neill exclaims on the club’s official website, before adding, “Rewarding the supporters would be fantastic.”

Villa will have to be firing on all cylinders at the weekend, as they face a fired up Chelsea side, filled with the confidence of beating Manchester United just a week before.
