Top Scorer of the Greek league, Djibril Cisse, claims he has enjoyed his best ever season as a football player after Panathinaikos claimed their 20th league title in history, and their first in six years. The former Liverpool striker has bagged 29 goals in all competitions in this campaign, signs that the French international is returning to his best.
"I am proud to clinch the top scorer’s honour in Greece," said Cisse on UEFA’s official website. "It’s the best season of my career, productivity-wise, but it’s not over yet. There’s one more league match and we also have the Greek Cup final ahead of us."
Panathinaikos won the league under the guidance of new manager Nikolaos Nioplias, who was Greece’s former Under-21 coach.
