Arsenal’s bid to win their first Premier League title since 2004 took a massive blow last night, as they lost 2-1 to Tottenham Hotspur in the North London Derby. The defeat leaves The Gunners six points away from leaders Chelsea, a gap that manager Arsene Wenger, feels is too much for his side to catch up to.

There is too much to do, yes,” the French tactician replied on the club’s official website when asked whether his side now face an insurmountable task to win the title. “It is very unlikely now to win the League. But we will continue to fight and you never know. But tonight even a point would not have been enough, we needed three points."

Arsenal next face relegation threatened Wigan on Sunday, with anything but a win, surely confirming another barren season for The Gunners.
