Chelsea have been on an impressive run of form as of late, a streak that has seen them return to the top of the Premier League standings. And with Manchester United losing ground with a draw against Blackburn Rovers last weekend, the Stamford Bridge outfit has stretched their lead to four points. Defender Alex believes, with such an advantage, his side are now favourites to win the title.

“I think it is our trophy to lose. I saw yesterday Arsenal lose and now they are six points behind,” the Brazilian centre-back reports on the club’s official website. “I hope we can win the next game against Tottenham, Manchester United have a difficult game and if they lose it is seven points and we have Stoke at home.”

Should Chelsea manage to hold on to their lead in the standings, it will be their first Premier League title in three seasons.
