While Edwin van der Sar, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs have all put pen to paper on deals to keep them at Manchester United next season, one player missing thus far is Gary Neville. However, manager Sir Alex Ferguson is confident that the 35-year-old will also be at Old Trafford next year, alongside his fellow veterans.

"I think Gary will still be here next year," said Ferguson, going on to point out that he had not yet discussed a contract with him though.

Ferguson went on to give his backing to Neville for a spot at the World Cup in South Africa with England, stating that his performances at such an old age still amazed the Scot.

"It is incredible. I do not know what to say about Gary Neville. He confuses me," said Ferguson, "I would not be surprised to see him at South Africa."
