Ahead of Inter Milan’s massive Champions League semi-final match against Barcelona tonight, manager Jose Mourinho has chosen to criticise the Catalan giants’ unhealthy fixation with reaching the tournament’s final, which will be played at rivals Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu.

It is not a dream for Barca, it is obsession. The obsession is reaching the final in Madrid,” the Portuguese tactician said to BBC Sport. “A dream is more pure than an obsession, an obsession is more about pride.”

Mourinho also revealed his desire to win the Champions League this season stems not from his personal desire to win the tournament, but from a yearning to bring his club and its supporters a taste of European glory after a 40-year barren spell.
