Dynamo Moscow are believed to be close to securing the transfer of Kevin Kuranyi from Schalke, despite late interest from a number of other European clubs. The Russian club, who recently parted company with coach Andrei Kobelev following a series of poor results, are keen to boost their firepower – another reason Kobelev was sacked.
Currently the Moscow side are relying heavily on former Liverpool striker Andrei Voronin and are keen to add a proven goalscorer to the ranks.
Kuranyi himself is thought to be open to what would be a lucrative switch eastwards and is hoping to go out on a high by winning the Bundesliga title with Schalke. However the deal is not yet done and the striker has not yet given a firm yes.
