Manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that the return to form of Emmanuel Eboue has been one of the highlights of the 2009/10 season. The Ivory Coast international was jeered by his own team’s fans back in 2008, leading to the 26-year-old leaving the pitch in tears and in danger of being an outcast in his own club.

This season however, Eboue has proven to be a reliable performer, and has been rewarded by the fans returning to his support. "It’s fantastic for him," said Wenger on the club’s official website, before admitting the battle was a difficult one for the Ivorian to overcome.

But I never thought it was impossible for him to win the fans back over. Maybe the battle was a little bit lost – but you never know. People will assess you by your attitude. I believe you can always win fans over if you have the right performances on the pitch,” the Frenchman concluded.
