Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has expressed his extreme delight at having six of his players included in England’s provisional 30-man World Cup squad. Michael Dawson, Ledley King, Tom Huddlestone, Aaron Lennon, Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe all made the selection.

The players are expected to travel to Austria next week to begin preparations for friendly matches against Mexico and Japan before the squad gets ultimately cut down to just 23 players.

Redknapp said on the club’s official website, "It shows the strength of the playing squad here now and it’s a great honour for the players and for the club, their families and everyone involved. I just hope no-one is left disappointed when the squad gets cut down."
