Lyon stalwart Sidney Govou will not be heading to Spanish side Sevilla. The 30-year-old is widely expected to leave the Stade Gerland this summer and Sevilla were thought a probable destination.

"He’s been proposed [to us]", said Sevilla sporting director Monchi told Le Parisien, "but we will not be following him."

Govou has spent his entire career with Lyon thus far and has gone on record as stating his desire to play abroad before he hangs up his boots. The forward was particularly impressive in the Ligue 1 side’s run to the semi-final of the Champions League this season and should have no shortage of offers – though not from Sevilla.
