Youri Djorkaeff, 1998 World Cup and 2000 European Championships winner with France, has launched a scathing attack at Les Bleus manager Raymond Domenech. The 42-year-old is frustrated with the coach’s selection for the coming tournament in June, particularly with the decision to exclude veteran Patrick Vieira.

“If there were 24 players in top shape, Vieira would not have taken place in this list. However, the 24 players, more than three quarters were injured long enough this season,” Djorkaeff explained on France Football. “I do not understand how he can deprive a man like Vieira, given his record, his experience and all his efforts to get back in the race for selection.”

The former Inter Milan player is extremely pessimistic about France’s chances in the World Cup, claiming a lack of leadership in the squad will be key to their demise.
