According to French daily L’Equipe, Olympique Lyon are searching for the proper replacement to 30-year-old Sidney Govou on the right flank, and are considering two options in Nice’s Loic Remy, and Rennes’ Jimmy Briand, who were both left out of Raymond Domenech’s France squad.

Remy, a 23-year-old former Lyon youth academy product, was believed to be the club’s first choice, but his €12M price tag has turned the Ligue 1 giants off. The young striker is expected to leave Nice in the summer, but his expected destination will be with current Copa del Rey holders Sevilla.

With Remy over OL’s budget, they have turned to Briand, who is currently under contract with Rennes until 2013. The 24-year-old is expected to cost the club just €6M, but with competition from Olympique Marseille, the price could go up slightly.
