Manchester City are, according to sources in Italy, preparing to end Diego's Juventus nightmare. The former Werder Bremen midfielder has not enjoyed the best of times in Serie A this season and was expected to help lead the Old Lady back to the top of the table. Now, following a disappointing campaign which will see them in the Europa League next season, Diego could be sold to the Premier League side.

A figure of around €20M has been mooted as Juventus look to reshape their squad to take on Champions League winners Inter and long-time rivals AC Milan – both clubs will be under new management next season.

For Roberto Mancini, the capture of Diego would be a massive coup as the playmaker was considered ready to become one of the best in the world upon his move to Turin.
