According to Dutch newspaper TC Tubantia, full-back Edson Braafheid will be returning to play at Bayern Munich next season. The 27-year-old, who transferred from FC Twente last summer, spent the second half of the last campaign on loan to Celtic after failing to impress, making just nine appearances.

The Dutchman, who is currently training with Holland for the World Cup, didn’t make much of an impression in Scotland either. And after having talks with manager Louis van Gaal, it was decided that the left-back would be given a second chance to prove his worth with the German giants.

Speaking on transfermarkt.de, Braafheid, who is under contract until 2013, said, “In the end I left Bayern perhaps a little too early. I would need to take more time to get used to being in a foreign country.”
