In an interview with Radio Monte Carlo, Johan Cruyff was asked of his thoughts about of France going into the World Cup. Although the football legend admits Les Bleus “have not had good results lately” he is adamant friendly games will not determine how they will perform once the actual tournament kicks off.
One player he is certain will play a big role though, is Thierry Henry, saying, “Thierry is a super player and nobody can take that away from him. He has aged, but he can still be very important for the team. He has experience and knows what to do. It is true that he did not play his best last season, but his form, I hope, in any event, will be good in the tournament.”
With Pedro coming to the fore at Barca, Henry could only manage four goals last season, his worst ever output since the 1998/99 season.
