Jose Mourinho is being linked with another of his former Inter stars in the shape of Brazilian midfielder Thiago Motta. Motta, who picked up the Champions League under the Portuguese boss at the end of May, has seen his agent refuse to rule out his client following Mourinho to Real Madrid.

According to Spanish paper AS, Mourinho believes Motta could play a vital role in his new-look Los Blancos side and will ask the club’s board to tie up a deal for the 27-year-old midfielder so his services are available when pre-season training gets underway at the Bernabeu.

Motta’s agent Dario Canovi told Calcio Mercato that while no-one had been in touch with him from Real Madrid yet, it was impossible to rule out a move for the midfielder.
