Real Madrid legend Raul, already closely tracked by a number of teams, is now wanted by his old coach at the Bernabeu Bernd Schuster. The German took over at Turkish giants Besiktas just a week ago and has already made his former striker a priority transfer target.

While the Istanbul club would be able to offer Raul a lucrative deal to move to the Turkish Super Lig, Schuster himself is unsure whether the Real Madrid icon would be willing to follow him east.

"I do not know if he is willing to come here"
, said Schuster to Spanish paper AS.

What seems certain is that should Raul wish to play anything more than a bit part role next season, his future will have to be away from the Bernabeu. And given his difficulty in turning out for another Spanish side, the chances are that would need to be abroad. Linking up with former coach Schuster, who rates him highly, may well appeal.
