South Korea captain Park Ji-Sung is ecstatic to make it into the knockout stages of the World Cup, needing to hold on against Nigeria yesterday in order to ensure passage. The Asian nation’s progress from the group stages included tricky contests against Greece and Argentina as well.

Our goal was to reach the round of 16 and for the first time, we have done this away from home," said a proud Park on premierleague.com. "We are very pleased we have achieved this in South Africa."

Park has played a prime role in South Korea’s strong performances in South Africa, garnering two Man of the Match performances, against Greece and Nigeria respectively. The Asian side will be playing against Uruguay, who topped Group A, in the next round.
