Having already declared that signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic is impossible, AC Milan were expected to walk away for a deal for the Swedish striker. However, reports from Spain suggest that Milan may believe that in Ibrahimovic’s case impossible is nothing as they bid to sell a number of stars to fund the deal.
Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi has, according to Catalan daily Sport, ordered a squeeze of the playing squad at the San Siro in an attempt to smooth the way for Ibrahimovic’s arrival. With Barcelona wanting a minimum of €50M for their star, plus the Swede’s hefty wages, the Rossoneri must make space should they wish to be able to afford the striker.
On the way out of the San Siro should buyers be able to be found are Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Matheiu Flamini. The duo would join Marco Storari in exiting Milan, with the goalkeeper having joined Juventus recently for €4.5M, money which went straight into the Ibrahimovic pot. Should Milan not succeed in raising enough from those already identified then there remains the possibility of the departure of either Ronaldinho or Alexandre Pato.
