Manchester City have followed up the signing of David Silva with another raid on Spain, bringing Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure to Eastlands. The English club have been heavily linked with Toure for the past month, but the Ivorian was thought to want to speak to new Barcelona president Sandro Rosell, presumably to see if there was any way back at the Camp Nou, before agreeing to the deal.

The Ivory Coast star has signed a five-year contract with City, who are believed to have paid in the region of €30M for his signature.

"Everyone knows Yaya is a player that we have admired for a long time", said Man City boss Roberto Mancini. He added: "We would like to welcome him to Manchester City."
