Barcelona have confirmed that they received a fee of €24M from the sale of midfielder Yaya Toure to Manchester City. The total money paid by the English club was €30M, but Toure’s representatives took a €6M slice as 20% of the player’s rights were retained by them.

The club stated that the deal had been agreed by the previous board, with who Toure’s agent enjoyed a good relationship. Barcelona president Sandro Rosell also said that it was ashame the Ivory Coast midfielder had left, but he does not want to keep players at the Camp Nou who are not 100% focused on being there.
