Former Leeds United and Aston Villa manager David O’Leary has returned to the game with Dubai based club Al Ahli. The Ireland coach had been looking to return to management and had been considered for several jobs in the English Premier League. The unlikely setting of the United Arab Emirates however will be the site of his return.

O’Leary has signed a lucrative two-year deal with the Middle East club and will be expected to win the United Arab Emirates title and make real progress in the Asian Champions League.

For the Irishman this represents a chance to put himself back on the managerial map.
