Barcelona believe they have been priced out of any move for Liverpool striker Fernando Torres. The Catalan giants had let it be known that should the Anfield club wish to part with their star striker to further ease money worries, then they would be interested in taking Torres back to Spain.

However, Catalan daily Sport reports that Barcelona feel any deal for Torres is unlikely as Liverpool would be looking for at least €85M to justify his sale. This is a sum that Barcelona simply cannot afford.

The Camp Nou giants could well stretch to offering €65M for the Spain star, but feel this amount would instantly be bettered by Chelsea, who seem the only side willing to meet Liverpool’s valuation of Torres.

Liverpool though, in public at least, remain keen to keep Torres at Anfield.
