Danish centre back Simon Kjaer is on the verge of swapping Serie A for the Bundesliga as his club Palermo prepare to sell the
World Cup star to Wolfsburg.

Kjaer has become hot property over the last season and his decision to head to Germany will prove to be a surprising one given interest from other larger leagues. German paper Bild believe that Wolfsburg have virtually completed the deal and will pay Palermo €12M for the Danish defender.

The centre back is also reported to have agreed a four-year contact with the Bundesliga club and now all that is left is for both clubs to make an official announcement.
