Barcelona are considering using AC Milan’s interest in Zlatan Ibrahimovic to help them bag Alexandre Pato. The La Liga giants have been prepared to sell their Swedish star since the beginning of the transfer window, yet are struggling to find a club who can afford Ibrahimovic’s huge wages and also a destination to which the striker would consent to moving.

AC Milan’s interest in Ibrahimovic is well known, but it is also the case that the Serie A side feel they cannot afford to add the former Inter man’s wages to their books. Barcelona, as they look for a dignified exit for Ibrahimovic, feel acquiring Pato might be the best solution for both parties.

Barcelona based daily Sport report that the Camp Nou club will suggest to Milan that a cash plus Pato offer would find favour with them. This would also lessen Milan’s wage bill and with Klaas-Jan Huntelaar also expected to exit the San Siro, possibly by enough to afford Ibrahimovic. The Swedish striker is not willing to sign a contract for less money than he currently earns with the Spanish champions.
