The transfer saga involving Cesc Fabregas and Barcelona may well move closer to completion today. Both Sandro Rosell, Barcelona’s new president, and Josep Maria Bartomeu, the club’s vice president, have headed to Johannesburg and will meet Arsenal representatives including boss Arsene Wenger today.

According to Madrid based daily Marca, the Barcelona party are hopeful of persuading Wenger to allow Fabregas to fulfil his dream of returning home by agreeing to what they consider a sensible fee for the midfielder. Rosell went on record earlier this week as stating that the Camp Nou giants will not pay €50-60M for Fabregas, an asking price they feel is excessive.

Fabregas, who is in Johannesburg for the World Cup final tomorrow, is keen to have his future sorted out quickly, to avoid having negotiations drag on while he reports back to the Emirates for pre-season training.
