Juventus fear they could be priced out of a move for Wolfsburg’s Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko. According to reports from Italy, the Old Lady contacted the Bundesliga club to commence negotiations yesterday, however, they soon found that Wolfsburg are keen for a cash only deal for Dzeko.

The Serie A giants had been hoping to bring down the money needed by throwing in Diego, the Brazilian playmaker who flopped in Turin last season, but retains a fine reputation in German football. Juventus had their hopes dashed though when Wolfsburg confirmed they are looking for between €30-40M for Dzeko.

Juventus had hoped that in Diego they had a trump card which could see off big money interest from Manchester City and any other English clubs, but today they will return to the drawing board and devise a new way to tempt the Germans.
