Thierry Henry, who has, as expected, joined New York Red Bulls on what the MLS club describe as a "multi-year" contract, could yet have the company of another European star. According to a variety of sources, Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs is the next big name on the Red Bulls’ shopping list.
The 36-year-old has been outstanding in the latter years of his career with the Old Trafford side and was widely expected to end his career at the club, however, the Red Bulls believe a chance to enjoy an MLS adventure before hanging up his boots could well tempt Giggs to head over the pond.
While Giggs is still under contract at Old Trafford until 2011, such is his stature at Manchester United that any request to leave would surely be granted without much fuss.
